Volume 1 Chapter 5
And it’s time for a surprise release!
Chapter 5 of Marginal Operation is ready for general consumption.
Well, chapter 5 isn’t really that long so we managed to finish it quickly. Chapter 6 will take a bit longer but we really want to finish this volume before September.
On a side note, the project suggestion deadline is almost up. We will check those suggestions at our leisure and decide whether to go with something from there or chose something entirely different. There is no rush so it may take some time.
We did however pick a side project. As for the details… let’s leave it at that for now. Feel free to look forward to it.

Hey guys.
As I was reading through from start to finish on all the chapters of MO I noticed a few sentences here and there that were kind of hard to read because of one or two words in the sentence being out of order. Almost like a pseudo machine translation. Not really a big issue as you can just read the sentence back while rearranging it your head, but i thought I should mention it nonetheless as i read that you guys don’t mind constructive criticism. I admit I’m not the best critic but I thought bringing this to your attention might help ever so slightly even if its just a slight consideration you take when proofreading.
Every other part of the translations I think are fantastic, you can really see where you guys have put the effort in. Right down to the linked references at the bottom of each page, notes and pretty much nil spelling and punctuation mistakes.
I’m really enjoying the story and your translations are great. Looking forward to future releases of MO and any other series if you decide to pick them up.
tl;dr
Proofreading is important.

Well Japanese sentences have a different word order than English ones, so arranging the order of words in a sentence can sometimes be awkward. It would really help, if you can point some sentences you feel are confusing due to word order, and we will look into it. We aren’t using any kind of MTL so any artificial sounding sentences can be blamed on humans (English isn’t our native language though).

The story’s told, with facts and lies. I had a name, but never mind.
I’ve been waiting for this. I’m aware that translation is wooden in some places (or even more than just ‘some’), but it’s first project with some hard places to translate+English is not our mother language. Even after finishing chapters, editor/corrector responsible for final English sentences is fixing it when he sees something strange. Feedback as yours is very appreciated and help us improve translation.

Yeah I understand completely about the word order thing.
Planning to re-read it over the week so i can make compile a list of any sentences that seem a little off.
